Stereogum Premieres ‘This Is Living’ By Shark?

With the release of Shark?’s newest work, Savior, lurking in the near future, Stereogum has just premiered the fifth track from the record, ‘This Is Living.’ Stereogum compared the new track to Shark?’s previous single, ‘California Grrls’ for being, “fuzzed out,” but described it as “deeper, musing about repetition and stream-of-consciousness lamenting on television.”

Savior is out on October 1st via Old Flame.

Watch the Shark? California Grrls Video on Stereogum

The fine folks at Stereogum premiered the humorous new video from Shark? Watch “California Grrls” now if you want a cheap laugh and come see them play with Mean Creek and Radical Dads tonight at Death By Audio in Brooklyn if you want a cheap rocking.

From Stereogum:
“NYC garage quartet Shark? seem to inhabit a world where primarily everyone dons a poor quality Ronalde Reagan (I assume this is Reagan. Just a janky, janky Reagan) mask in their normal lives. They wear a Reagan mask when they’re at band practice, making out, and stealing people’s purses. It’s the right display of Shark?’s sense of humor, whose anti-ode to the women of the west coast “California Grrls” may be vitriol-laden but seems to have a tongue-in-cheek sensibility to it. The band has just released the song with Old Flame Records, who will also drop their full-length Savior later this year. Watch the video below.”

Prefix Magazine Premieres Shark? Down Low

Head over to Prefix Magazine to hear the latest song from the forthcoming Tape release of Shark? – True Waste.

Prefix says, “the collection of songs is charmingly grungy and minimalistic.

In June, the lo-fi post punk outfit shared the LP’s first single, “Slap-Dash,” and today is sharing “Down Low.” The track features shining, dueling guitars and Kevin Diamond’s deep, monotone vocals (think Interpol’s Paul Banks). But though the song is raw and full of static, it’s pretty damn catchy.”

Listen to Down Low below:

Impose Premiere’s Shark?’s Slap Dash

Again from our friends at Impose Magazine. Hot new premiere from Brooklyn rockers Shark? Check out “Slap Dash.”

Their debut tape True Waste will be out via Old Flame Records on 7/26/12.
