Los Angeles’ Wintergreen are proud to release their new album Rebel Shout digitally through Old Flame Records.

If a marriage between Death Cab For Cutie’s savvy indie rock and the heavy surging guitars of Dinosaur Jr. would put you on cloud 9, then enter the chapel of Wintergreen. The Los Angeles collective draws upon the infectious pop/rock landscape of the late sixties (i.e. Kinks, Zombies, Beatles) set against the dark backdrop of early nineties angst (i.e. Pixies, Nirvana). Their new full length ‘Rebel Shout’ exposes the visage of a more serious tenor without succumbing to the melodrama that has compromised many of their contemporaries.

From my native Cleveland, OH, Cloud Nothings eight-song debut Turning On is one of the grittiest, most immediate hitting indie pop record i’ve heard in a while. The kind of record that needs repeated listens and seeing their fantastic live show just made them more of an obsession. Mean Creek played their biggest show yet this past Friday, playing at the Paradise in Boston as the direct support for Buffalo Tom. The show was sold out and the band delivered a stellar set in front of nearly 700 people.
